Network marketing business almost ruined my life.
A few years ago, I went on a binge, recruiting friends and family to join my network marketing business. My blind ambition led me to make money against the comfort of others. I twisted arms, pushed products, and tried manipulating my way to the top with contempt for relationship.
In the end, blind-sighted by the narcotics of money, I broke spiritual laws and almost lost everything.
Let me explain.
The Company Died
In the mid 2000s, I went on a frenzy, recruiting friends and families to join a particular network marketing company. To ease my schemes and earning potential, I paid the sign-up fees for my friends. The game was for me to reach to a certain level that guaranteed a lump sum of money and privileges.
At first, I followed all the instructions from my up line and dutifully made a list of potential people to call, at the top of the list were family and friends. I harassed them, and it nearly killed my relationships. Folks not only rejected my business presentations but also rejected taking my phone calls. Pure misery became my company. The result was anemic.
Instead of making money, to compensate for losing friends who avoided my business, the company went belly up less than two years of operation.
“I told you so” became the refrain among the few trusted friends that remained. The other friends, I think must have laughed hard and prematurely danced on my grave.
In short, I lost friends, family and business.
I was a Broken Man
When the company folded, I had nothing. The website they gave me was on their server; it disappeared the minute the company buckled under. My up line leaders all changed their contact information. They either skipped town or changed their phone numbers. In some cases, they did both.
No website, no up line leaders, no friends and family to offer support, with no money, it looked to me like the sky was falling. For months, I went from one type of depression to another. With no physical resources to latch onto, my only solace was reading the self-help books in the local library.
During that time, I found out that I broke spiritual laws. To distort or spin facts in order to make money is breaking spiritual laws. Unfortunately most marketers break this law hoping they are smart.
They hype and whip prospects into parting away with their money. This is wrong and unproductive. It will surely come with a price tag.
That is why here at MoneyConnexion, we’ll show you how to do network marketing the ethical way. A business built around the comfort of your customers and not the money you take from them.
It is about them.
How to do it Right
If you are in network marketing how rock solid is your business? Is your website, hosted by your network marketing company? Are you paying for a site you don’t control? Are you sending traffic to a site you nominally own, one that can disappear overnight?
You might be making a costly mistake that will come back to hunt you.
Here is what you should do. Get three domain names that mirror the business you want to promote. One should serve as a blog, the other as an ecommerce site, where you direct people to make a purchase. The other domain to capture leads. Yet concert to promote one another, yet maintain their respective appeal.
People do not like being sold something. They like to be in control, smart and free. They want to discover something for ourselves. The moment it looks as they are being sold on something; they get defensive.
To scale this wall of defense, your first option should be to sale them first through your blog. Providing great content to answer all possible angles of objections. Dialogue with their logic, then when they are comfortable making a purchase, they will gladly give up their credit cards.
There is nothing wrong with network marketing. It is a $3 trillion juggernaut. Savvy folks are making money with it right now. Just like online marketing, affiliate marketing or any form of marketing, you need the right tools.
If you are new or pro in this and you are not making money, then this blog is for you. We’ll give you, the right set of tools to make you money the savvy way.
To chase down a friend or family member, asking them to join your business or buy your products, is the wrong way to do it. It belongs in the past.
There is no reason why recommending network marketing businesses or products should trigger a stunning contempt; yet it does!
Look; network marketing otherwise known as MLM, is a brilliant idea but operationally stuck in the mud. Just look at this blog from ACN, a MLM company, dealing in communications. Does it make anyone want to bang on their door, to shove their credit cards to their face?
Hell no! The contents are poorly written; the pictures and visual quality of the site is also poor. They fail in the two basic categories of skilled marketing. Content and Visual.
They may make money, but not to their full potentials. Their sole pathways are through the worn out process of recruiting prospect from a shrinking pool of family and friends.
Telling friends and family about a business or product is not a bad thing; especially when done in a savvy way without being obnoxious. After all we do it all the time; when we recommend movies, restaurants and social forums.
So looking back to my horrendous forays into network marketing, the one that nearly ruined me, I wish I had done things differently. I wish I started with a blog, generated timeless contents for posterity.
I wish I had a squeeze page to generate leads without poaching friends and family. Last but not the least, I wish I had an eCommerce site to sell my products without putting buyers through a pressure cooker.
That is how to do it with class.
