From last few years more fake Indian currency notes are circulating in the Indian market. Whenever you do a transaction you should make sure the 500 or 1000 Rupees bank note is genuine or fake.
With help of today’s advanced technology the fake notes look alike a genuine note which makes it hard to identify. Here are some simple steps through which you can identify in between the fake and genuine notes.
Below is the 1000 rupees note and the features to identity, same features are of the Rs 500 bank note.
1. See through Register
On the right side of the bank note there is floral design which has denominational numeral ‘1000’. Same floral designs are on the back side of the bank note and the numeral appears as one when seen against light.
The hidden portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the multidirectional lines and an electrotype mark showing the numeral 1000 appear in this section and it can be viewed better when seen against light.
3. Optically Variable Ink
The colour of the numeral ‘1000’ appears green when the bank note is held flat. The colour also changes to blue when held at an angle.
The number panel, bank note series, security thread and few particles are printed in fluorescent ink and they will glow when viewed under ultra violet light.
5. Security Thread
Security Thread is of 3mm wide and on this security thread there is ‘bharat’ (written in hindi), ‘RBI’ and ‘1000’ inscriptions. This security thread colour will change when viewed from different angles. The security thread is also visible from the back side of the bank note if viewed against light.
6. Intaglio Printing
The Reserve Bank seal, RBI Governor’s signature, portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and ‘Ek Hazaar Rupiye’ (written in hindi) are printed in intaglio and can be felt by touch. Through this Intaglio Printing visually impaired can distinguish the genuine bank note.
7. Latent Image
On the extreme right side of the bank note there is a vertical band on which hidden numeral ‘1000’ is, this ‘1000’ numeral is visible when held at an eye level.
In between Mahatma Gandhi portrait and the vertical band mirco letters ‘RBI’ and ‘1000’ are written. These micro letters can be seen through the help of magnifying glass.
9. Identification mark
There is a diamond with intaglio print on the left side of the bank note. As the diamond can be felt by touch it helps the visually impaired to identify the genuine note.
10. Year of printing
On the back side of the bank note the year of printing appears.
11. See through Register
Like front side of the bank note there are floral designs on the back side of the bank note also. These designs appear as one when viewed against light.
If you found any fake note during any transaction just complaint about it to the police, if you use the fake note you might get in trouble. So while any transaction with Rs 1000 or Rs 500 check the above security features for safety.
